Taxes

Did you know that Americans don't need to pay taxes? It's not written in our constitution. Why are we paying taxes? Good question, because we don't know the law.

Don't you want to keep all your hard earn cash? I do and few thousands (or more) other Americans. Wake up America, protect your future and the future of our country. We are becoming socialist, we are a republic and let's keep it that way. What happen to the phrase "for the people, by the people"? We being being control by our own government. This is not the America it use to be. This country is being run by leaching government officials under the control of rich individuals (The Corporate America).

Please educate yourself about taxes. Goggle it, search it, and let's bring back the way it used to be.

Statement Of Gratitude

Yet another tag, yeah! Thank you very much Weng for passing this to me, amongst others.

I am grateful for a lot of things but would like to dedicate this statement to my loving husband.

I am grateful that I found a Husband who is perfect in so many ways (as a son, friend, brother, uncle, father, lover, & husband), who always sees both sides of the story, always giving someone a benefit of a doubt, would die to protect the CONSTITUTION of our beloved America for the future of our children, and such a honest man. He is my guide and direction. He always remind me to put my self in someone else's shoe when something doesn't come out the way it should be. I have so much love and respect for him.

In order to be able to achieve and maintain happiness we need to, actively, be able to do two things:

  1. Complain and then let go (Dump the baggage, the roadblocks to happiness.)
  2. Express Gratitude (The open expression of gratitude promotes happiness.)
After all everyone has something to be grateful for and/or something to complain about. If you would like to share, please follow the appropriate link and do so: "Are You Grateful?", "Complain Complain Complain."

Out With Children

This is the very first time we went out (to have fun) with all kids. We went to our local bowling alley, why is it so dark in there? Are they saving electric bill? They were so excited to finally go out with everyone...funny I know but we never go out together.

It is very hard having 3 toddlers running around while we are out because, we have to run after them and make sure they don't get in any kind of trouble, or getting into something they are not supposed to.

I rather let them run around in my own house, because I don't have to worry about anything. I am beat today taking care of my youngest one while the others and DH play. He wanted to go on the hard wood floor and if I pick him up he turns into a soft noddle. Trying to get away from me every time I try to pick him up.

Two passed out about half hour after getting home. I need to go to bed myself but this is the best time I can be online without interruptions. Kids they are a handful but when you see them having a good time, laughing, giggling they makes it worthwhile.

They had fun and that's enough for me.

Approved by Blogsvertise

I been approved by Blogsvertise for about a month now and I haven't receive task to do. I thought once you get approved they will give task anytime. I guess I was wrong on that.

One of these days I will apply on every site and see who gives me tasks first and keep those who are fast. I can't really do it now because hub went back to work full time and my schedule is out of lope.

I need to get use to my new schedule first before adding anything new to it. I definitely miss him already...sigh.

Airborne

I heard that Airborne got sued for false advertising. They are saying that the product does not prevent cold. Come on everyone knows that there is no cure for cold. And I don't care about this nutritionists who said that the product is over price, run-of-the-mill..."whatever" I may say.

He sit on his bottom all day and goggled the net and asked himself "who can we sue today". Why because there is not single chemical in Airborne ingredients? Maybe they are running of funds since they are a non profit organization.

So if I don't like my neighbor, it doesn't give me right to make their lives miserable and sue them.

That is America for you.

BTW, I love Airborne even if they are pricey. My favorite flavor is the Apple Cider nighttime. It clears my sinus every time I drink it. I like anything all natural.

20th HS Class Reunion

I feel really old with that title. Yesterday was my 20th year anniversary graduating from high school. I haven't talk to some of my HS friends that long.

Last Saturday they had a meeting at one of my classmate house. They talked about when, how much we need to have our reunion in our old Alma Mater. They taken a lot of pictures, some faces I can remember and some I can't.

There are 5 sections in our class and most of the people attended the meeting are from my section. Which I like because I can see what they look like now after 20 years.

Not only that, my DH is having his 20th Class Reunion this year too. His would be this summer and mine will on December. We voted December because a lot us goes home to visit family in the Island.

I am the only one from my whole class that is here (US). Some of them are out of the country also but not as far. Some are in Middle East, Europe, Australia, and some other Asian country. I'm not even sure if we (DH & I) can make my reunion. I know, I have 9 more months to get everything situated but I really don't want to go without my family.

Ken Lee (Without You)

Let's make this a funny Saturday. You know me, I searched the internet so many times a day and I found this one. I can't stop laughing while watching this. She learned to speak English... well, make the English sound just by listening to the song. I feel so embarrassed for her, I don't know why I feel embarrassed.

It came to me that a lot of people doesn't know how to speak English and never been exposed to it. I was lucky enough to start learning English in grade school, other countries don't have that opportunity. Even though I learn English in school, my first meeting with Americans didn't go so well. I couldn't understand their accent. I had to listen very attentively to hear the root word to better understand what they are saying. But it's like riding a bike, once you learn you will never forget and you start doing stunts to make yourself better in riding.

The song is actually titled "Without You" by Mariah Carey.

Enjoy the show people...ha ha ha.

Please watched the second video too. The second one is much better than the first.

Ken leee, tulibu dibu douchoo. (I can't live, if living is without you) Oh my god, I can't stop laughing. She have the voice but her words are so Bulgarian. Ha ha ha love you Valentina Hasan of Bulgaria you put smile in my face. I will not be surprise if she get a record offer from her country. Kudos lakas ng loob nya. I don't have the gut to do it

Marinduque Moriones Festival

As you all know, I came from the Island of Marinduque. I grew up watching these festival. The Island of Marinduque is the birth place of Moriones Festival.

Marinduque Crowds of town people dress up as a Roman legionaries and figures from the Bibles. The festival takes place in Marinduque during Holy Week and culminates in the re-enactment of the beheading of Longinus. Entire towns are converted into huge stages as the story of Longinus unfolds.

Participants wear colorful costumes (similar to those worn by Roman Legionaires) and masks made from paper mache and painted in lively colors. Other even dress up in the image of various other figures from the Bible.
"Morion" means "mask" or "visior”, refer to the colorfully garbed and masked soldiers and centurions during Christ's Passion, a part of Roman armor which covers the face. Morion serves as the focal point of the Moriones festival and celebrations.

One of the most colorful festivals celebrated in the island of Marinduque is the Moriones Festival. Moriones, on the other hand, refers to the masked and costumed penitents who march around the town for seven days searching for Longinus. This week-long celebration starts on Holy Monday and culminates on Easter Sunday when the story of Longinus is reenacted in pantomime. This is a folk-religious festival that re-enacts the story of Longinus, a Roman centurion who was blind in one eye.

Legend has it that Longinus pierced the side of the crucified Christ. The blood that spurted forth touched his blind eye and fully restored his sight. This miracle converted Longinus to Christianity and earned the ire of his fellow centurions. The re-enactment reaches its climax when Longinus is caught and beheaded.

The festival is characterized by colorful Roman costumes, painted masks and helmets, and brightly-colored tunics. The towns of Boac, Gasan, Santa Cruz, Buenavista and Mogpog in the island of Marinduque become one gigantic stage.

The observances form part of the Lenten celebrations of Marinduque. The various towns also hold the unique tradition of the pabasa or the recitation of Christ's passion in verse. The Via Crucis is also reenacted and flagellants, known as antipos, impose suffering upon themselves as a form of atonement. After three o'clock on Good Friday afternoon, the Santo Sepulcro is observed, whereby old women exchange verses based on the Bible as they stand in wake of the dead Christ.

Passports Breached

Corporate America spying on American people, it's not new to me. It made the news because they are well known people. And I thought McCain and Clinton are with the Corporate. I wonder why the media leaked the issue about it. Maybe it was the plan to have the American people believe that the government is protecting the people of America. I doubt it, they are in too deep to fool me with this kind of issue.

If that is their intention why is it that we need the national ID system. Corporate America doesn't trust the people.

Spring

First day of spring today. The ground is still very wet. I can't start my vegetables garden as of yet. I don't even know what to plant there either. But I'm pretty sure that long beans, corns, okras, and eggplants are just a few of them.

I would like to plant gourd too, but I'm not sure if they will come out this year. I didn't get any of them last year. I will try roma/plum tomatoes and sweet potato again this year. It would be nice to have and limit my visit to my local grocery store.

I can't wait to have fresh vegetables again. I wish we can move to tropic to have my garden all year long.

Uses for Bananas

Bananas contain three natural sugars-sucrose, fructose, and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two mananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6, it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect mood.

Anemia: High in Iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of Anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruits ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: Two hundred students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) School (England) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel movement, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid affect in the body, so if you suffer from heart burn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito Bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight & At Work: Studies at the Institute of Psychology an Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as dietary food against intestinal disorder because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicles cases. It also neutralizes over acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature Control: Many other cultures see bananas as a 'cooling' fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the Natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking & Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%.

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape.

Did you ate bananas today?

DH is a little jealous because my order came first and his Laptop is not coming until the 21st of this month. Not that we needed another computer but he/we don't have a laptop. Now we can be online anywhere we go.

Thank you Mr. DH for the gift.

Dental Hygienist

My DS #2 had a dentist appointment today. This is his second dentist since we are not fond of the last one. All they do is criticize us on why we don't our kids to take fluoride. I grew up with out taking fluoride and my teeth are not falling out of my mouth. I have very nice teeth if I say so myself.

I was expecting they will do everything today. It doesn't matter if this is my DS first visit. But no, now we have to go back on Thursday to do the cleaning. What are they trying to do, collect more office visit fee?

Oh, I forgot he got a lose tooth and the dentist pull it out with his help. Now he is expecting $5 from the tooth fairy under his pillow tomorrow. The dentist mention $5 since he let him pull it out.

DS #1 have an appointment that morning also for his Orthodontic, a yearly check up after his braces came off. Being healthy in this country is very expensive.

Top O' The Mornin'

Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. Did anyone wore green today? I didn't, I just drop the kids to school and back to the house. I don't need to dress up for the occasion. Maybe If I'm working I may have but right now just plain everyday color.

I bet a lot of Irish people got out to a bar and got drunk. Not that I'm generalizing but mostly true. Did anyone found a four leaf clover today?

Some Irish Phrases

"Erin Go Bragh"
"Tiocfaidh Ar La"
"Top O' The Mornin' "
"Begosh and Begorrah"

Getting Better Everyday

Almost a week now since I got sick. My second time getting sick this winter season. I'm still not 100% yet but I can stay longer in front of my pc now. I know not a good thing but this is the only thing that relaxes me.

Tomorrow is Monday and hub is going back to work full time, again. So it means I have to do solo taking care of the kids again. I'm always spoiled in the winter because he is home most of the time. And if his not home, I don't have to leave the house because the road is covered with snow.

I need a lot more resting to do to get back to my normal self again. That means less internet time from now on.

Salt, Which One Is Better

What kind of salt do you use at home? Since I moved here in early 90s, I adapt the table salt with Iodine. Not concern about health issue, and not knowing anything about it. Table salt is basically chemicals with Iodine.

I became concern about health issue when I reach my 30s. Concern about having little DC's in my thirties, if I don't take care of myself now, I may not see my grandchildren or not see my DC's finish high school. Yup, I will look like a grandmother when my youngest finish high school. Sad, but that is what happen when you start a family late.

We (hub & I) started to change our sugar, oil and salt intake. We only buy natural sugar, virgin oil and sea or himalayan salt. And we don't buy ready to eat food with HFCS, mono glycerin, and partially or fully hydrogenated oil in them.

Table salt is bad because it is processed in a high temperature. Don't worry about the Iodine part, you can easily find Iodine in meat, seafood, and some vegetables & fruits.

No wonder why my parents developed high blood pressure when they got here. They are not use to this, all of their life they eat all natural ingredients. They are all fresh from their land and they use sea rock salt, coconut oil and cane sugar. I will not be surprise if they reach 80 or even 90 years old. My life expectancy would be 65 to 70 in my opinion because I lost 10 years. I was here for 10 years before I change my eating habits.

Sweet Potato Greens Cured For Dengue?

Here is an email circulating the internet about how sweet potato cured Dengue.

Speak Out: Cure for Dengue?
By Bernardo Rocha Calibo
Director, NAPOL COM7

There is hope that the Dengue scourge will be obliterated. I was in the meeting in Manila (capital of Philippines) recently with other NAPOLCOM officials. While waiting for my flight back to Cebu (city in Visaya region of Philippines), I happened to talk with friends. The conversation eventually turned to Dengue. Some of their statements shocked me. I called up the persons concerned and they confirmed these revelations.

Computer technician Wenceslo Salesale Jr., 27, was downed by Dengue. His platelet count plunged from 180 to 80. He was rushed by ambulance from Novaliches to Manila. Inside the ambulance, a relative, acting upon the advice of a missionary priest, made him drink soup made from Camote (sweet potato) tops (young greens). The following day, his platelet count became normal.

The 7-year-old daughter of engineers Mar and Lita Buglongan of Kaloocan City. Her platelet count read 80. The same treatment was used. The 15-year-old daughter of businessman Nepomuceno Salaga of Sampaloc Manila, had the same platelet of 80 due to Dengue. The same treatment was used and both back to normal the following day.

I asked a doctor of medicine about herbal cures and he said that many, if not most, medicines comes from plants. He also said that under the Hippocratic oath, doctors are bound to encourage anything that can cure a patient.

We need not do research deep in the rainforest's of the Amazon or venture into the ocean depths in search of the elusive cure for Dengue. It is right there in our backyard.
(Well it can be if you plant your own vegetables.)

The following information is from Wikipedia:

"In 1992, the Center for Science in the Public Interest compared the nutritional value of sweet potato to other vegetables. Considering fiber content, complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins A and C, iron and calcium, the sweet potato ranked highest in nutritional value. According to these criteria, sweet potatoes earned 184 points, 100 points over the next on the list, the common potato (NCSPC)."

"Sweet potato tops (or greens) are excellent sources of antioxidative coompounds, mainly polyphenolics, which may protect the human body from oxidative stress that is associated with many diseases including cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Sweet potato greens have the highest content of total polyphenolics among other commercial vegetables studied."

"Sweet potatoes contains protein, dietary fiber, lipid, and essential minerals and nutrients such as calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, sodium, potassium, sulfur, iron, copper, zinc, manganese, aluminum, and boron. Sweet potatoes are also important source of vitamin A, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, and ascorbic acid."

In the case of Salaga, he bought 5 sheaves/bunches (bugkos/bigkis) of sweet potato greens. Each sheaves consist of 12 cuttings and each one measures about one foot. A sheaves costs about P5 (Philippine currency).

The greens are boiled in water to extract the juice. The boiling last for about five minutes. A little salt is used to give flavor. Patient with Dengue is made to drink slowly and gradually. The body's immunity system is thus revived, making Dengue helpless against the body's natural defenses. Sweet potato greens enable the body to heal itself.

Now you know why I said earlier that my friends' revelations shocked me. They were shocking because people are needlessly dying all around us from Dengue, while they're very cure is also all around us.

In the past, many were fond of using the derogatory statement, "Go home and plant Camote (tagalog name for sweet potato)." Now, Camote is big news. It can save lives. So, to strengthen your family against Dengue, "Go home and plant Camote!"
~Context edited by Nedekcir~

Like I said, I got this as a forward email from my cousin. You don't have anything to lose if this doesn't do anything for you. Plus, remember all the vitamins and mineral sweet potatoes brings you. And don't forget about eating the green too, just make sure when you boil it drink the water too.

Would You Like Lemon With That?

Do you eat out a lot in the restaurant? Do you asked lemon wedges for your ice tea, water, and soda? Lemon wedges in a restaurants are covered with 25 different microorganism. According to study conducted by microbiologist LaGrange team (NJ) that all 21 restaurant they tested were positive with microorganism including fecal bacteria... Can I say yuck!!

This microorganisms came from employees unwashed hands or from the cutting boards use to cut meats.

I am guilty using lemon wedges in restaurant also. I don't drink soda and I always order unsweetened ice tea or water with lemon. I squeeze and drop the lemon wedge in my drink, I feel nauseated just thinking about it. Never again. I used to work in the restaurant and we do have a separate slicer for lemons and we use tongs to put it in drinks.

What's in your lemon? Please watch the video below. I added today (3/11/08) for everyones convenience.

Peace Corps Day

The Peace Corps traces its roots and mission to 1960, when then Senator John F. Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. From that inspiration grew an agency of the federal government (which by the way is taking over American peoples lives) devoted to world peace and friendship (more likely taking control of every country, don't disagree you know it's true. Do your homework).

The mission of the Peace Corps are to help the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained men and women. To promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the people served and to promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans. (why is this control by the federal government? this should be from American people to other people of the world. not by a company name federal government. It has nothing to do with the government, it's only a name, same as federal express.)

Pot of Gold

It's been non stop for almost 24 hours now. The phrase "raining cats and dogs" is nothing compare to this one.

Well, you all know that I drop off my DC's to school 5 days a week. Coming back from dropping them off I saw a rainbow in the horizon. They always said that "there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow". I was thinking maybe it was close to where I live. Before my exit I saw vehicles in front of me having different color. The sun was shining on the wet road. "Oh wow the end of the rainbow is here" I said to myself. Ok where is the pot of gold. (ha ha ha) I think it was funny.

I went thru a rainbow today on the road coming home. Is there anything interesting happen to you today?

Hydrogen Fuel

How many times have you seen commercials on tv about vehicles using less gasoline? But you can never see those vehicles being sold in your dealership because they are not allowed to sold in your area. Why is it? I know I spoken about the corporate America a few times in this blog. But that is my answer, they buy off the patent from the developer and suppressed it from public to use. Do you remember Tesla's invention?

Why you ask? Here is one scenario: they want you to buy from them, because if 100% of American people use water for fuel they will not gain anything from it. They will not make money. I will not be surprise if they pass a law that hydrogen fuel cars are
illegal. We will see those environmentalists fight for this one. Oops, there is already a law about hydrogen fuel. (I did a goggle and it says so.)

How can you not save money? I heard one resident in NJ runs his entire house on hydrogen. I would like to do it myself. No more electric and gas bills for me. I can spend more money on better things that my family needs.

Do you want your own Hydrogen fuel car, watch the video below.

Life of Ours Author

Mrs. Cheers, Keystone USA

"I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations. I have a continuing program of research (What mother doesn't?) in the laboratory and in the field (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters, (the whole darned family) and already have five credits (four sons & one daughter, 1 joined the working community, 4 were educated @ home ). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities (any mother care to disagree?), and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers, and the rewards are more of a satisfaction than just money."
