Being Sued

The CEO of my children cyber school is suing some parents that are under the parents organization in that school. They are being charge with slander, I don't know exactly why because from what I am reading they did not say anything bad about the person at all. The only posts that I remember was a questions about how the school is being run and we are asking for documentation about the rules and regulations. Which by the way have not yet answer for some odd reasons because they (people who are in charge) kept telling us to direct our questions to proper authorities. Yes, we will gladly do so if we know the proper authorities. I don't really know when is the court date, I was not serve but the organization for parents is and I am a member. It was address to the president of the organization and the organization itself.

Most of us agree even my husband that finally our questions will be answer. Plus most parents suggested to wear a custom embroidery shirts to make some kind of statement about it. They offer fast delivery for anyone including organization like ours, that will able us to use it right away. You can check them out at threadsmith.com.

We also agree to contact some TV stations to cover the whole thing. I wish this thing turn out for the best, if not we will be looking for alternative and I maybe going to traditional homeschooling for my children. However, if I go that route my taxes will not pay for it. The best part of it is that I can pick what curriculum to use. I can only pick reading, mathematics and writing, the extras are not that important in my opinion.

Plenty of Help

My ODS did not have school today so, DH told him to help me with his younger siblings lessons. We were done before 12 noon today. The reason he is off today because we are having snow, sleet and freezing rain again. Now I have plenty of time to spend online...(pathetic). I'm addicted what can I say.

ODS did fine guiding his younger sister to all the lessons. DH and I work with his second grade brother with his lessons. Plus he attended two illuminate (online classes from her teacher), one is for language art testing and the other one is history about the Chinese New Year.

I better get started dropping cards to my lists. Goodbye for now.

Testing Finished

DD supposed to get tested on the first week of this month. However, with the bad weather they postponed it until today. I will not know how she did, until the tester gives the report to DD teacher.

Thursday last week DS a second grader took the scantron test for math and over the weekend we work on his reading test. He is not very fond of reading, I told him if he doesn't do it, he is not allowed to leave the room. It took him half hour, or I should have said it took me half hour to finally get into his head. He needed to read stories, then go into the questions. When he saw the long page he needs to read, he started to cry. I kept telling him crying will not get him pass second grade but no luck.

Eventually, my thinking hat start working, and I copy and paste the whole story into Word and printed in a big font. They are 5 pages and fewer. However, I got him to read the whole story and answers the question with no problem.

I thought actually that he will fail himself by not listening to me. A very hard week for me indeed. I heard that 3rd grade is all about writing and stories. I will be pulling my hair out if he gives me such a hard time next year. I'm not looking forward to it, not at all.

Brrrr

I got this today at 5:08pm, yaay I'm trying to drop ec's here for my 4 blogs and I am freezing. I think I need to put another set of sock and gloves and ski hat to keep me warm right now. Can you see the real feel?

I can't remember getting this cold last year, but then again it was a year ago and I can't remember anymore. I would be really happy to get at least 40°F soon. That will be a heat wave for us...lol.

Did you know as soon as you step out of my house right now and inhale your very first breath, your nostrils will freeze. So, if you have a runny nose don't go outside...aye ya yay! Got to go I need to put those extra things I am talking right now.

Target Shooting

We are going to target shooting in April. However, for now playing kingman paintball is better way to practice on what we have to do in April. It's safe and our neighbor can't report us to authority. Have you checked their site yet? You should if you love playing with paintball guns, you know why? They are having sales as I am typing this. You don't believe me just follow the link above.

Desks For DC

Finally after months of locating some cubicle for my home school kids we actually found and bought some. Total of 8 cubicles in all, if set up the way it's supposed to be. The only down side is it does not have drawers. I think we have to buy some metal drawers to put under the desks. We got it from the same person selling the image below and it has the same color too.

Now, all four of them can have their own desk. Next year I am going to teach 3 of them and one in pre-school. Hopefully I can potty trained him on the summer. Maybe start him in a private pre-school just like his older siblings and start kindergarten at home.

We have to find a new bedroom, because like I said before our bedroom is the biggest and we put two desk for my two home school now. Now that we have the cubicle we need to let them use our bedroom because there is no other room except for the family room downstairs. If my youngest DS is older that will work but until then I have to keep their classroom upstairs. Easy access to everything. I think we have to move our bedroom to that family room. That is bigger than our bedroom now but very open and no window that you can see the sunshine from.

DH and I only use it to sleep anyway, so that will be ok. Just thinking about teaching three kids next year makes me stresses out. I hope I can do it.

Recession or Depression (You Decide)

Is the gas price going up again? My guess is they only waited to get our new president inaugurated then hike up the prices again. The government is again covering up what is really happening in our country these days. I think the previous president is trying to make him look good while in office and now that he is gone, he put everything back the way it supposed to be. Furthermore, the American people will blame the newly inaugurated president for everything that is about to happen. I’m not really fond of him either, but passing the blame to someone is not right. Unless you are a cold hearted, no care for our own country, then yes and we all know that (well at least I knew about it).

Before Christmas I saw gas prices in the lower $2.00. And after the Christmas vacation it went up again. I think they make the American people think that everything is fine but in reality the government only wanted for us to spend more money on gifts. Which they say is good for the economy, however if you charge everything in your credit card to buy those gifts now they will raise the loan rates again, and you are stock on paying high percentage rate for borrowing that money. They have done it like bait and a lot of Americans fell for it. I think my husband needs to purchase a goldwing parts to fix his bike to save money on gas. We will never know what tomorrow brings. Are you ready?

Knowing What is Right And Wrong

On Wednesday around noon my friend from California called me up. She never call me if she don't have anything important to tell me. So, I asked her if she is getting married soon but told me she will not get married again. What she have now is more than fine she said.

Anyway, so I proceeded with "ok what is my sister (older) doing now"? Sure enough it's another bad news. I was never close to her, nor I can say that we have any kind of friendship going on. However we are sisters and we have the same blood running through our veins. I don't approved on what she is doing a long time ago, however I never told her that. She thinks that I don't know anything about her life in California. I knew a lot, because the friend that who called me is her friend too. They were friends first before I become her friend.

I called her up, she was still at work because of three hours difference from the west coast. I told her call me back when she is done working because I will be very frank on what I'm about to say. She kept asking what it is and I told her. She went on about explaining herself and I told her don't lie to me. What you are telling me doesn't make sense and you know it. Who in the right mind can and act that everything is fine when everything is right there in the open and the public can see it. Then she agree that we should talk when she is done work.

I waited for the time she said and she didn't called. I know right away that she spoke to her husband and I was right. She called me up, I did not answer the phone because I was at my youngest son's bedroom trying to put him to sleep. When I listen to her message my thought was right. She spoke to her husband and now she know what I am talking about. When she said that I knew then that she is not the only that have the problem they are both doing it.

So, when she was telling me that their marriage is fine and they love each other are just full of lies. She wants to think that everything is fine, well maybe whatever they are doing is fine in their eyes but other people/married people does not act that way. What happen to the little voice telling them "this is not right don't do this"?, my guess is the little voice is all feed up and quit.

Now she told me to back off and mind my own business. Well, in my opinion don't let other people know what you are doing to mind my own business. Now our friends is not her friend anymore, either.

My question is, "why get married if you can't keep your vows"? Stay single and do what ever you want. A hard headed/no self respect/know it all old lady who never grow up.

Did I mention I am one sibling less now?

Happy Monday

Our first day back in regular schedule. I thought I will have a hard time teaching my two DC but I was wrong. I always think of the worst case however it always goes into my favor and I am glad.

I even have time to make home made dinner rolls to go with our chili dinner tonight. Furthermore I baked some sugar cookies after dinner, I feel like a super mom...ha ha ha (not!). Tomorrow DC have more lessons than usual and we did one of them today. All we have to do is put in the hours tomorrow for that lesson. Plus on Wednesday DD (K) have a face to face screening because they can't hear her make the letter sounds over the phone (which she know all of them). Good thing DH is home that day, I don't have to take all 4 of them with me. Thank you DH, you are a great help.

We are also compiling some assessments and writing samples to mail to their teachers before the end of the month (that mostly my job). DD received two Christmas cards from her B&M classmates and she is writing back to say thank you. I have to spell everything for her while she writes and sometimes if she know the words I only sound it out for her. A great way to practice her words.

That's it for today, I need to take some zzzz and start again tomorrow. Have a great day or night everyone.

Life of Ours Author

Mrs. Cheers, Keystone USA

"I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations. I have a continuing program of research (What mother doesn't?) in the laboratory and in the field (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters, (the whole darned family) and already have five credits (four sons & one daughter, 1 joined the working community, 4 were educated @ home ). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities (any mother care to disagree?), and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers, and the rewards are more of a satisfaction than just money."
