Staying Warm in Colder Days

Did you feel the cold temperature we had last night, for those who live in the northeast? I am not ready for this temperature to start because my vegetables hardly made any seeds for my next year seeds. I hope we don’t get the frost too soon that definitely means that I have to buy new seeds for next year. I know a lot of us suffer from too much rain here in the northeast or north part of the country.

I also wish that we had our house build from the ground up and build according to our liking. However, we can’t complain on how much we got the house for. Renovating can be very costly and we only fix things that needed to be fixing at this time. Furthermore, if money is not an object we could do the whole floor heated. Who needs a carpet if our floor is heated and very cost effective? We don’t need to heat house too much because the heat from the floor will help us get warm. I will be sleeping on those floors instead of cold bed.

And have you gone to the bathroom or kitchen early in the morning? I cannot wear socks everyday because they sweat and made it stinky. (I have a post about my feet last year.) Walking into a cold bathroom and kitchen floor in the morning made me colder and I turn the heater higher too. Oh my, and don’t get me started on our walls, I think a newer insulation all around the house is necessary. However if they are broken don’t fix it. It will get fix when the budget can afford it. We just need to wear something thick to get warm for now.

"In This LIfe of Ours" Weekend Update

It clear up around noon on Saturday here. I suggested that we should go on our plan to go apple picking. We had to go a lot of back roads and windy (spiral), 2nd ODS and myself got car sick because DH drives like he is the only one in our mini van. Every turns and corners can sure are felt inside. Unlike me I consider other human being inside the vehicle and taking each one very smoothly. We got lucky no one vomit inside.

Anyway, we got there and we can see all the apple trees, peaches, nectarines and corns. Field along fields of corns, I even differentiate the white flowers to brownies ones. DH walk in the place ans asked about apple picking, but the picking will start this weekend. I tried calling them and ask about it but somehow no one answered the phone every time I called. We bought some nectarines and dozen (13) sweet multi-color corns.

We stop to get some school supplies first before proceeding home. When we got home and I boiled and roast half of what we got. The roast I hated because it tasted like I am eating sugar. DH loves the boiled ones because he said it taste very very sweet and the sweetest corn he have ever eaten on his lifetime. NOW, I'm thinking it this corns good for human consumption?

Sunday was a fairly nice day, not a summer day but nice. I spent my Sunday grocery shopping and pre-cooking some food and making sure everything we need for school are bought, at least for a week...lol.

I just finish cooking breakfast and my children are eating right now. 2nd ODS have to do some lessons today and tomorrow my 2 DS will be full time on their lessons. Today is ODS (senior in high school) first day also in out local brick and mortar school. I will be very busy from now on and I'm not quite sure how to return visits from other blogs. However, weekend will be different, so, kindly bear with me until I get hang of things around the house.

Happy Monday!

Saturday Save - The Best For Last

DH was off yesterday, good thing too because it rained all day. We planned on going to our local apple orchard but we couldn't because of the rain. I plan on taking my camera this time and since I am ready, it did not happen. The forecast for the whole weekend is rain, rain and more rain. I checked the orchard website about the hours and when are the public allowed to pick apples, and it is supposed to end on Monday. Yaay, Monday is the first day of school for my ODS and Tuesday for my other two boys. DD first day of school is on September 8.

Every year, I tried to relax in the summer and that never happens. Always busy and I always forget strawberries and apples picking for the kids. A mother should be on top of things, any mother care to disagree?...lol. I kinda planned about strawberry picking, but the month of June was raining too much it almost feels like April. Then I remember apple picking too late. Some places they let the public pick in July until the end of September, but these places will not be open to the public this year. They did not gave me reasons and I forgot to ask. Have you done everything you planned for the summer? Lucky you if you did, and we are in the same boat if you didn't.

There is always next year, sigh...lol. I may not live that long...

Great Investment

JoJino .25 Carat Real Diamond Watch All Gold with Chrono DialWe have a saying "Diamond is a Girl’s best friend", for some and they are a great investment as well for people like me. Everything I buy these days I make sure it will last long or as an investment. Just like this Hip Hop Jewelry watch above. It is .25 Carat Diamond Watch and it’s all gold. When the economy belly up, I can be sure that I can afford to buy food with a piece of that gold and diamond. Don’t you think so? Anyway, if you like wearing Hip Hop Jewelry please check this site out. There are plenty to choose from.

"In This LIfe of Ours" Weekend Update

This is more like a this week update. My weekend is very tiring, I went shopping, cook non-stop and to top it all EC was offline all day Sunday. It turn out to be the best part because I was able to visit more adgitize site. In addition I am getting pissed to my ODS because all he does is play on his computer. I kept asking if he is looking for a job but he is more interested in reading "manga" than anything else. He does not even notice when his younger sibling next to him coloring himself and the walls. Oh, this should be under prostration Friday entree...lol.

Ok for this week: I need to do the classes schedule for my kindergartner and I will start my 3rd grader this week. More likely two classes a day this week and school start for both next week. That means less online time for me and less dropping anywhere.

I still need to go to office supply store to get materials for them. There are a lot of perishable to buy too, but I will get them when we need it. I keep telling myself not to think about it too much but it's not working. That is probably the reason why I'm always tired when I wake up in the morning.

Book Review:
I also have to do a book review Lisa Roe. The book is called "Women, Wisdom & Dreams" the light of the feminine soul by Anne Scott.

Actually this not only for women however, focuses about women. Anne Scott does work shop for people with different religions, you don't have to worry that this is only for a certain people. You probably read other books about dreams but this one is different. You don't need to interpret and find out what is your dream meant. You have to see your dream the way it is and why you are having this dream and what you are supposed to do.

This is also a great motivational book for those who are looking for the meaning of life. My husband was laughing at me when I accepted the offer. I will read something but it does not mean I have to follow it. Like they say, “you can make your destiny” but other people needed the extra push and even a book for them to act on in. You can find this book in your local book store or at Lisa’s site above and check this book out.

Web Hosting

I have heard so many bad things about the free web hosting sites online. I think free web hosting is good if you are using it for your hobby and not to earn extra money. I am one guilty user of these so called free hosting sites. I wish I have all the time in the world to learn how an independent web hosting sites works. Furthermore, reading the “know what to look for in a shopping cart” when buying a web hosting sites will be very beneficial for me. However, hosting my blogs myself is out of the question right now, because we are only allowed to use the residential services.

If you are in the market for a new web hosting, make sure you stop at web hosting geek’s dot com first and read their blogs. There are plenty of information for a first timer or simply if you wanted to learn which web hosting will best fit your needs. You can also pick the cheapest possible or the most expensive one. Both hosting have their own advantages and disadvantages, of course make sure you are aware of that. Furthermore, I bet you can customize your web host and all you have to do is speak to their customer support. Check them out today!

What is Wrong with EC Today?

Am I the only one who can't log in to EC today? I'm not really complaining because I have done a lot of things around the house without it. I find my browser loading faster than usual without EC toolbar running either. I can spend more time browsing Adgitize today...yeepee!

Saturday Save - The Best For Last

We had another tornado watch yesterday. Our second ODS read it flashing on the screen of our TV and was very scared after that. We started with very nice weather and turned into very dark gloomy day. The wind started to picked up and I'm hearing it gusting and whistling through our open windows. I proceeded to close them all and put the shades down. The kids floaty on the swimming just started flying every where. I instructed the kids to go down in the basement just in case.

I was with the last window and it started to down pour. I was so glad it started raining. I can't really imagine not having any roof over our head with this economy. Before the storm started I checked the lottery tickets my PIL gave to us for our birthday and anniversary hoping to have win something, but no luck. We have match two numbers in two separate tickets. It would be nice to off the grid after winning that big one.

Anyway, I just so glad tornado did not develop where we are. However, our cable was off until we went to bed last night. I finished most of my EC drops, but those who drops before I went to bed did not get a drop back from me. I think the wind has something to do for the cable to go off. I'm back now and that's all it matter...well at least that is what I think...lol.

Happy Weekend, I have to go grocery shop today.

Random Tuesday "In This Life of Ours"

I had a really good night sleep however, I woke up very tired and achy. It was 6AM when I finally got up and prepare DH lunch. I wanted to go back to sleep but DD have an orientation around 11AM. I need to cook breakfast for 6 of us and get DD ready to go. I instructed my ODS on what to do while I am gone and to make sure to give his younger brothers something to eat and drink while I'm gone just in case they get hungry. My YDS is going with me and DD because even though ODS is almost 18 years old, I can't leave a three year old under his care. If he is a young lady I can, but he is a young man and I will never forgive myself if something happens to my YDS.

We got to the orientation location on time (15 minutes early). It took me an hour to get there because I stopped to get some fuel and there is a construction on the road as soon as we are about a mile away from the place. I was using my nephew's GPS and the gap between me and the place will only take us 3 minutes. That was the longest 3 minutes ever, I think we were there for almost half hour just to get where we are going. That was 3 minutes turned to 30 minutes, very annoying.

YDS was fine for two hours in the room with us. As soon us they did the orientation the problem begun. He wanted to get more and more water from the container that was set-up inside the room. I don't want him to make a mess so, I need to tell him to stop. He talk so loud and whine every now and then. Finally, at the middle of the second presentation I had it and brought him to the bathroom to yell at him. It did not work, and DD was knocking on the door. Finally he stop whining and we went back in the room. You think he stopped, no way...it got worst. And everyone is looking at me like I don't do anything to stop it.

I finally decided to leave the room, and of course DD is behind me. I can't stand it when I go to this kind of things with all of my kids. What they expect, everyone has a baby sitter standing by just to watch children? And no, I am not paying anyone to watch my kids just to go to this type of events. I wish they are more open to people with multiple children. Kids will be kids, it does not matter how much you slap them around. When they are bored, that is what they do.

I wish I can start my own school that multiple children or siblings of attendees are welcome to come. I am so piss right now about the peoples reaction about children. I hate it, and I try so hard to do everything where is closer to us for less travel time and have relatives to watch my other kids. But when it's far and that long I can't get them to watch any of them because they have lives of their own.

When they were looking at me, I feel like I committed a crime bringing younger kid in the orientation. I think next time this happen to me, I'll just stand and leave, I don't care if the orientation is for me. Or I can tell them in advance that there will be other child with the attendees. If they can't come, well guess what, I am not going, if it is mandatory, well I guess they can give it to us via webinar/illuminate or any other online form.

Weekend Update "In This Life of Ours"

ODS came home from his very long summer vacation on Saturday. My second DS suggested that we should make a welcome home cake for him. Then DH agree that we should and guess who did all the cooking and stuff. DH end up sleeping the whole time I was out shopping for the celebration.

Anyway, I did not even have time to write my Saturday Save because I was very busy. I finished all my EC and Adgitize drops around 11pm. I was very very tired on Saturday. Sunday I just rest the whole day and folded a lot of clothes. I love washing clothes but folding and putting it away takes a while because I don't feel like doing it.

The weeds in my garden is out of control. I don't feel much about continue wedding it. Every time it rains for two days all the weeds are higher than my vegetables. I almost in the verge of just leaving it alone. Put the black plastic over it and start again next year. And make sure make plots and mix the soil well enough and add some sand for better drainage too.

I have a growing ulcer in my mouth because of all the cake I been eating the past week. The wheat and I is not getting along. I put some colloidal silver directly on it and hoping it will stop it for coming out and hurting more. Not to mention I am eating a lot of Nectarine (sour and sweet) lately. With the combination of citrus and wheat is a waiting ulcer for my mouth.

So, how is your weekend?

Our Youngest DS

The picture is taken in our classroom/my office/computer room this summer. Every time they see their winter stuff they don't have any problem wearing it, especially him. It would be about 80 degrees and he will be wearing all this warm stuff. No, we don't have central air, however we have a window air conditioner for this room. We have 5 computers going on here at one time and during school ours we have 6 computers going. A very warm room to be during winter.

He started talking late. The county even sent a therapist to work with him for a year. I hated it because I have to clean my house every time she will coming. We were not very concern about his speech because we know he will catch up eventually. And guess what, he did and this year he was speaking in complete sentences. Sometimes we (DH & I) had to double check and look very carefully and check who was talking. We knew that he will speak when he is ready, not to mention he got 4 other siblings to copy how to talk from.

Patrick
As soon as my two home schooled finish for the summer, I started to potty train him. What I love about my boys are they don't pee in bed while sleeping. As soon as they fall sleep they will not pee unless they wake up and ask for my help to go to the bathroom. It was so easy to potty train them from night bed wetting. He is also the fastest one to learn to go to the bathroom when he needs to go pee or poo. With the others I have to yell at them a few times to get the idea in their head. But then again he is the youngest, and he can see all his older siblings doing just that when needed. When sitting on the toilet I always ask him if he needs to poo. He would try and if he can't he will tell me and I will ask him every time he goes pee. We/he never had any accident doing number two in his pants. Once in a while he can't hold it especially when he gets the runs, but he is always good. Plus, I know when he says his tummy hurts I knew right away not to tell him to hold a second. When he says that, I better help him in the bathroom right away.

In addition he was breastfeed for two years. The first year was full time, the second year was only when I put him to naps and on bedtime. I had to add it here, because we noticed that he is the brightest of all our children.

Wordless Wednesday (not so wordless)

Tenth Wedding Anniversary (Mr. & Mrs. Cheers)
I am so lucky to have found such a husband with whom I share many beliefs. We are the same in so many ways yet different in others. And our job is to find balance in all of this and make everything work.

The video I put together with our wedding song. We had a church wedding with the closest family. I think there was a total of 14 or 15 people. We ate at the local restaurant with no reservation. They were not crowded so, they don't mind.

We went to a local photographer to get a nicer pictures. But I like my smile from my own camera. The smile on the professional taken shots does not look real to me. Plus, DH & ODS are looking somewhere else. Every time the photographer say look here, I think they are looking at something rather than the lens of the camera.

Love is what I feel each time you smile or touch my hand.
Love is how we know each others thoughts, and understand...
Love is all the joy we share, the happiness you bring.
Love is what you mean to - and you mean everything!
The love we share is the most beautiful thing in the world.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

24-Hour Home Alarm Monitoring Company

Home Alarm Expert
Do you live within in the city limit? You may want to think about getting a reliable security system provider. Believe me, when I still live in the city I have to lock every opening in my apartment. I don't have much valuable inside but whatever I have has sentimental value, and that is hard to replace in my opinion. I just don’t understand people that can take anything they want. What is it, they don’t have the little voice telling them what they are doing is wrong? In this day and age, it does not surprise me anymore, so protect yourself and everything that belongs to you.

As the years pass
They get better it seems

You're someone I can count on
When I need a helping hand
You're compassionate and loving
You always understand

Oh yes you have your
Off days too
However those days
Are but numbered few

I'm so thankful to have
A husband like you
There is no other
Who could fill your shoes

And for your birthday, here is one of your favorite music. Please remember we are on this together and don't feel that you are alone with all the fights towards the better America. We (myself and our children) are with you all the way. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND I LOVE YOU ALWAYS!

Saturday Save - The Best For Last #7

Google Sorry?

I was dropping EC from my inbox yesterday and look at google gave me from 3 blogs. I don't have any idea what it this all about. What they mean by automated queries? I wish I have one, whatever that is. I bet it can save myself an online time and spend it weeding instead.

However, after cleaning my cache I started over and the same 3 blogs loaded with no problem. Weird. Did anyone got this message before? Do I have some kind of virus lingering in my system or blogs...something? Can anyone elaborate?

Google Error

In another story, we will be celebrating our (DH&I) birthday's and anniversary this weekend. My birthday is Monday, his is Tuesday and our Anniversary is on Wednesday. We are both turning 39 (wow, we are getting there) and this is our 10th year wedding anniversary. Like most marriage there are rocky times however, we have mostly good times. But I can't deny that the rocky times, they are not too much of it, but can outnumber the good times when the arguments happened.

Through good times and bad times, we are still here still trying to work it out...and it is very hard to make it work sometimes and mostly working over time in most time. However, we have children and it not fair to them if the bad times will win between us parents. We both never worked so hard for anything but each other. Hoping and wishing to fight for each other and for our children more in the future. Who ever said that being married is a piece of cake is joking and doesn't know what they are talking about.

Have a great weekend everyone and we will be celebrating our best times for 11 1/2 years we been together. Looking back the bad times and make sure we don't get into those bad times anymore and make ourselves better. Very easy to say than done but we will try. We made it this long, (I know there are many who gets divorce way after 10 years) and I/we have to make this work if we want our children to grow normal. I been there and it's not the best to everyone who is involve and I have a proof (my ODS) to prove it.

Make it work, make it work. Happy Saturday!

Power Steering

Kia Sedona Power Steering

Most of the vehicles back home don't have power steering rack or power steering box when I went home in 2001. We borrowed my cousin’s trike (motorcycle with side car) and jeep to use around the island, to our surprise we were having hard time turning with the jeep. We both started laughing because we have never driven a vehicle without a power steering. I never learn how to drive back home (Philippines) and when I started driving here in the US these things are used nationwide. Maybe you will find the antique cars, but there is no way I will take it for a test drive. And if you have a vehicle with no power steering, here is your chance to buy one for your antique vehicles. They offer the highest quality at wholesale prices.

Random Tuesday @ "Life of Ours"

I brought my van to the garage yesterday for an alignment. It took about 1 hour and with the 4 little ones with me. This is a no name garage recommended by DH friend. It only cost us $44.00 to get the job done. DH asked me yesterday if the van feel different after the alignment but I could not answer him because we did not go faster than 45 miles per hour drive.

Well today, I decided to drop off my DD hardware to be return to one of FedEx drop off place. I can still feel the shaking specially going from 60 to 70 miles an hour. It should not be doing it if the job was done correctly. His back is probably still hurting or simply not done correctly. I wonder what DH will say when I tell him about it today. His friend also told us that it will only cost us $35 plus tax. When it was time to pay (I only have $40 cash with me) I walked into their little office to pay. She told me how much it was and I mentioned that such and such said it was only that much. Ok, I will not argue with the lady, because I saved a lot just going there. I went back to my van and looked for cash to cover the bill. I found $2 and went back in. I put it on top of the $40 I gave her the first time and I said thank you and left with the receipt. I was ready to leave but I looked at the receipt and it say's $43.40. I started to think on how much I gave the lady and I still owe her $1.40. I can't believe I did that. I knew she told me that exact amount and somehow what stuck in my head was $2.00 more. It does not help that I was very hungry because I was expecting the job to get done after 20 minutes. Plus the kids are annoying me because we were waiting longer than we are supposed to. The lady was probably scratching her head when I tried to dis her of $1.40. I am so embarrassed, DH have to go back there not me to get the job right with our alignment.
FedEx Drop off box
Ok, let me continue about dropping boxes to the drop off place. I saw the box inside OfficeMax and my boxes are bigger than those. I walked inside and asked the clerk on how to leave a big box and told me that some people just leave them outside or next to the drop box. Mind you these are computer, monitor and printer that I am sending back. I am not paying for these old stuff when lost. I had to bring it back home again and called FedEx to pick these two boxes from my house instead. It was a total waste of time driving there for nothing. I wish the site said that big boxes will not fit inside the drop off boxes. If I only knew that those things are just boxes, I would not have drove there. Some places like Staples keep it inside and UPS pick the boxes from the store not like a mail box. A lot that I know, or maybe I should have called OfficeMax first before going there.

Weekend Update "In This Life of Ours"

We went for a drive Friday afternoon to see the damages of the twister I reported. I was told that tornado will never occur in mountainous area, well they are very wrong. This tornado went over the mountain, mountain side, and valley. I actually saw went over a very old house and barn but they only suffered from some missing shingles. But others are not very lucky, I think it depends how strong the winds when they passed their houses. The trees looks like a big hands twisted the top part. When you twist a twig from the branch, that was it looks like. It even spares some branches too.

With all the sight seeing we did, I forgot that my 8 yo son had a speech class at 3pm Friday afternoon. I had my reminder in my cell phone, but since my cell phone is in my bag, I did not hear it and missed the whole thing. I was pretty sure that we were home before 3pm. As usual most of them wanted something sweet, so I made a homemade chocolate donuts. I used 3 cups of flour and I did not cooked all of them. The left over dough was eaten the next day. Almost tasted like "espasol" (Filipino dessert/snack made from glutinous rice, fellow pinay correct me if I am wrong). I don't really know what to call it in English.

On Saturday we just lounge around the house and be lazy. I was thinking about weeding but I'm way too lazy to do it. We spent the whole day doing nothing but watch TV, playing games online and browsing.

When Sunday came I knew I needed to moved and get some groceries. It was raining all day, and usually YDS comes with me grocery shopping. I had to put a towel over his head because he wanted to walk by himself and don't want to share my umbrella. When we came to our second stop it was like raining cats and dogs. We had to ran (luckily I found a parking spot very close to the door) from the car to the store and by the time we were done paying I was finally dry and we had to go back outside just to get wet again. Somehow YDS loves to get wet and jump on the paddles, kids.

When we got home the garage is wet because water came in again. I didn't even notice that it was raining pretty hard. (But I guess I said raining cats and dogs at one point). DH dug more trench at the back of the house and this time it is bigger. I made a little one two weeks ago but I guess there was too much water and the trench can't hold them all and went over. Life of Ours Author

Mrs. Cheers, Keystone USA

"I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations. I have a continuing program of research (What mother doesn't?) in the laboratory and in the field (normally I would have said indoors and out). I'm working for my Masters, (the whole darned family) and already have five credits (four sons & one daughter, 1 joined the working community, 4 were educated @ home ). Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities (any mother care to disagree?), and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers, and the rewards are more of a satisfaction than just money."
