What is Wrong With Our Public Schools?

Oh wow, where to start. There are so many things wrong with our Public Schools. First I think public school is a day care now a days. School is supposed to be a place to learn how to read and write.

Stop butting in with the children's personal life. And stop government in governing the public schools. Let the parents decide what is good for their children. Not other people who by the way only wants your money.

Money is not the problem in our public school. Before the 1900s children went to school, they learn how to read and write with no problem. They can go to school whenever they want and parents are ok with that. Now, if you want your kids to go to school make them. Do not call any organizations/services to enforce it. You are the parents and you should deal with it. Why don't you want to deal with it?, because you too busy working or plainly don't care. If the parents don't care why should other people care? We are turning into SOCIALIST. We are not socialist, we are republic.

I never let my kids do an after school activities. They are already kept there for 8 hours a day, I don't want them to stay in school way longer than that. Then teachers will complained that they are no getting paid enough to do the job. Well, don't do extra works. Send them home and let the parents deal with it. Teachers supposed to teach, not to mother/father etc and government should govern the constitution not the people. And everyone stop nosing in someone else's life. Mind your own business.

Public School a tuition free school in the United States supported by taxes and controlled by a school board.

I think they should re-write the meaning of public school.

in some cases I'm happy that the teachers have butted in, in cases like domestic abuse, or extra attention with children with learning disabilities, though most teachers could care less, and make those parents take their kids to a "special" school (sigh).

there are so.. many bad parents, so just imagine what these kids would be up to, if no one sent them to school.

yes they are butting in but they are complaining that they are not getting paid enough...meaning the more they complain the higher my school tax is rising.

did you ever think that maybe the kids deserve it (school age)? When I was a kid, talking back to my parents will get me belt. Not going to school will get me belt, not doing my school and house work will get me a belt. And I learn from it. Not once I blame them or told anyone that they are abusing me.

These days, they get a pinch because they hit their younger sibling, the social services will come after you because the kid told someone.

And for those who get a beating because their parents are addicts, yes go ahead but trying to discipline my kids...no not anyones business but the parent.

plus they should not allowed to have any kids, if they don't know how to care of them. they are passing their responsibility to other people because they are too lazy to do it themselves. why, because they think that since they are paying school tax, that the school have a responsibility on up bringing for their kids.

there are two side on this, depending how you look at it.

Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities (any mother care to disagree?), and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers, and the rewards are more of a satisfaction than just money."
