20th HS Reunion (pictures)

Here a few pictures of what went on in our reunion on December 27. At first I could not hear them, I ask to be put on a conference and it works, I can hear everyone.

The man is our batch president and the lady is one of my classmates in culinary class. The pictures are from the web cam. They had it on with our request (people who couldn't make it there). There are about 10 of us watching from the web cam. DH is actually jealous because on his reunion they didn't offer a live telecast and we live in the US, this kind of technology is nothing compare back in the Philippines. The web cam got cut off a few times but our technical person was always there to fix it. The people in the picture are the few who said hi to me while I'm chatting. Actually there are 4 people chatting to me from the reunion the whole time and 4 people chatting from the other countries as well. (Those who could not make it there just like myself).

Every time they say hi to me they always asked if they can see me, however I don't have a web cam. But when I spoke everyone said hi back. They asked me some questions but I can't hear them very well. So mostly I said hi, told them where I am and about my family. There are so much laughing and I wish I could have gone. But it's possible because I wanted my whole family to come. We can't afford the plane tickets for 7 people. I could have went by myself but that is not fair to DH. So, I decided to stay home instead. Plus I know that my family will enjoy going also, maybe next time if there is a next time.

This is the place we rented from our old Alma Mater. You can't really see the whole place but this is better than nothing.

20th HS Reunion

Today is my 20th high school reunion. I think it's about 9am (Saturday Dec 27) there right now, I can see a few people walking around. I can't hear anything however seeing my high school classmates faces is good enough. They are supposed to start the program around 9:30am.

And yes I am watching the whole thing from a web cam.

Introducing "Molly" (the cat)

Isn't she too cute, she is helping me dropping EC here. She follows my mouse pointer around, a little hard to drop because I'm scare she will scratch my lcd monitor. I had to hide the pointer from her. She is also one of my stress reliever these days. The first night she came home she slept in my bed. Just listening to her purr calming me drastically. DH telling the kids that she and I are best of friend. Like I said in my post here, I like the kitty but I can't take anymore responsibility. However DH is pretty good in taking care of her litter box and cleaning up her mess. Now I have a best friend and I don't even have to take care of her...lol.

Here she is tired of chasing mouse pointer. Sleeping between my keyboard & monitor and purring the whole time. I like it too when I wake up in the morning and she chase my feet. She is not declaw but she is really gentle and she also loves to hang on my pant legs. She nibbles my socks too when she catches my foot.

When DH first brought her home I got sick, and DH mention that I may be allergic. Good thing I wasn't because our kids fell in love with her already and bringing her back where she came from will make them sad. I'm all better now and thank goodness I'm not allergic to felines.

DC Done with Lessons & We Are Off Until January

Yay, can you see me doing the happy dance here...lol. Ahhh, two weeks that I don't have to teach. I can also drop ec non-stop for two weeks. Oh how I missed my me time.:)

We finished their class at noon today. We ODS has no school of we are supposed to have 6 inches and more of snow. The snow started around 10am and still going on, and right now it's 1:30pm.

I fed the kids and send them outside. Right now I'm watching from the window. My YDS is sick so I have to stay inside with him. DH is busy fixing his attachment plow for his law mower to plow our driveway. ODS is shoveling the walk path and the end of the driveway. Taking the pile of snow that the plow truck pushed out when they plowed our road.

My second and 3rd DS are outside playing on the snow along with their only sister. I think this is our 4th or 5th snow but this time we have more. They can't wait to finish their lessons today to play outside. 3rd DS just lost his snow hat and he got the worst cough with all of them. However he is the toughest of them all.

BTW, like you can see in the picture it's still snowing outside. A little dark because I took this picture from a close window. I am too lazy and too cold to open it up.

We are on winter break!!! I know I could have gone ahead with the lessons but I'll let them decide if they want some lessons or not during our break. But for now let me enjoy my ME time.

Nick Pitera's Shifting Voice

I was watching some videos at YouTube today and came across his videos. At first I thought he is faking it/leap syncing it but I was wrong. Kinda weird but the same time in awe on what he can do with his voice. Below is the sample of what he can do and you can google his name and you will find pages and pages of him.

He even made a short movie about himself. Check it out at nickpitera.blogspot.com and at myspace.com/nickpiteramusic.

Moms Letter to Santa

I got this from the yahoo group that I belong at. I am a member of the group for my DC home school program. I can't really say the name right now because we are having issue with the management. There are more to be added with this letter but you see the point. My favorite part is the "talking doll"...ha ha ha how I wish.

Dear Santa,

I've been a good mom all year. I've fed, cleaned and cuddled my children on demand, visited the doctor's office more than my doctor and sold sixty-two cases of candy bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on the school playground.

I was hoping you could spread my list out over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my son's red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry room between cycles, and who knows when I'll find anymore free time in the next 18 years.

Here are my Christmas wishes:

I'd like a pair of legs that don't ache (in any color, except purple, which I already have) and arms that don't hurt or flap in the breeze, but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the candy aisle in the grocery store.

I'd also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month of my last pregnancy.

If you're hauling big ticket items this year I'd like fingerprint resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music, a television that doesn't broadcast any programs containing talking animals, and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I can hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, 'Yes, Mommy' to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who don't fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without the use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting 'Don't eat in the living room' and 'Take your hands off your brother,' because my voice seems to be just out of my children's hearing range and can only be heard by the dog.

If it's too late to find any of these products, I'd settle for enough time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or the luxury of eating food warmer than room
temperature without it being served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don't mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to brighten the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare ketchup a vegetable? It will clear my conscience immensely.

It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is calling and my son saw my feet under the laundry room door. I think he wants his crayon back.

Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and come in and dry off so you don't catch cold.

Help yourself to cookies on the table but don't eat too many or leave crumbs on the carpet.

Yours Always,
MOM...

14 Days of Homeschooling

I may not technically home school but I found this song amusing...And I would like to share to my reading public...lol

"To the tune of "Twelve Days of Christmas."

On the first day of home school my neighbor said to me, "Can you home school legally?"

On the second day of home school my neighbor said to me, "Are they socialized, can you home school legally?"

On the third day of home school my neighbor said to me, "Do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you home school legally?"

On the fourth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "What about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you home school legally?"

On the fifth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "YOU ARE SO STRANGE! What about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you home school legally?"

On the sixth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "How long will you home school, YOU ARE S0 STRANGE, what about P.E. , do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you home school legally?"

On the seventh day of home school my neighbor said to me, "Look at what they're missing, how long will you home school, YOU ARE SO STRANGE!, what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, do you home school legally?"

On the eighth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "Why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you home school, YOU ARE SO STRANGE, what about P.E. do you give them tests, are they socialized, do you home school legally?

On the ninth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "They'll miss the prom, why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you home school, YOU ARE SO STRANGE!, what about P.E. do you give them tests, are they socialized, do you home school legally?"

On the tenth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "What about graduation, they'll miss the prom, why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you home school, YOU ARE SO STRANGE!, what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you home school legally?"

On the eleventh day of home school my neighbor said to me, "I could never do that, what about graduation, they'll miss the prom, why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you home school, YOU ARE SO STRANGE, what about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you home school legally?"

On the twelfth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "Can they go to college, I could never do that, what about graduation, they'll miss the prom, why do you do this, look at what they're missing, how long will you home school, YOU ARE SO STRANGE, What about P.E., do you give them tests, are they socialized, can you home school legally?"

On the thirteenth day of home school I thoughtfully replied: "They Can go to college, yes you can do this, they can have graduation, we don't like the prom, we do it cuz we like it, they are missing nothing, we'll home school forever, WE ARE NOT STRANGE!, We give them P.E., and we give them tests, they are socialized, AND WE HOME SCHOOL LEGALLY!

On the fourteenth day of home school my neighbor said to me, "How can I get started, why didn't you tell me, where do I buy curriculum, when is the next conference, WILL PEOPLE THINK WE'RE STRANGE? I think we can do this, if you will help us, we'll join a sports team, and we'll home school legally."

ODS Called Sick

When he left home this morning he told us that he is not feeling well, but he needs to come in because he has lab work to do. I thought he will feel better as the day progresses but he woes out. I got a call from him to pick him out around 12 noon today.

I think grounding him got him sick...lol. He couldn't do anything and got sick...lol. Ok I better stop however I can't stop. Hanging out with the rest of the family got him sick. Everyone else got sick already except for him. I'm not totally better yet either. I got sick Friday but not severe. I can still cook and do other things but my whole body is aching so much.

I made my rice soup, took a lot of vitamin C and airborne. I did not lay down to let it pass, now I feel ok but my throat is burning and I'm losing my voice. I can't yell at anyone anymore...bummer...lol. I always loss my voice every winter at least ones, so this thing is not new to me. I hate it because every time I go outside I need to cover my nose, cold air makes it hurt more. Argggg... Hoping to get better soon and I will air out the house for at least 15 minutes in this cold weather. Get all the germs and bacteria freeze, hoping it works...lol.

Spoof Card

Why does teenagers never answer their phones? And I bet you when their friends call, even while eating dinner they will answer it. My son is allowed to carry cell phone in school. However he always turn the ringer off (school rule) and never ever put it on vibrate. He is grounded this week, because his grades for the first grading period lower than his normal lowest of B minus and highest are A plus. He got grades that are lower than B minus and every close to failing.

He is grounded with everything. He is not allowed to use his computer, unless for homework. He also not allowed to play chess at the YMCA with his friends and not allowed to bring friends over. We also told him that if, he does not answer his phone when he is out of class that would be another another day added to his grounding.

We thought about getting Spoof Card from www.spoofcard.com. From what I read they offers the ability to change what someone sees on their caller ID display when they received a phone call. I bet he will answer his phone right away because he will be so curious who is calling him. I also like the ability to change my voice from female to male. This is a nice feature for those unwanted calls we get. And the recording feature enables many businesses to have a record of a verbal order or transaction that can be referred back later. With that said, this is great for personal and business use. Please check the site to learn more.

His And Hers

My husband and I decided to get ready for "rainy days" and part of it is buying things that we can use to protect ourselves. We have little children and we need to protect them from what is coming in these "rainy days". We had been stocking on food also, did you know that certain religion needs to stock up on food enough for a year for every member of the family? We are not there yet however; we have enough food for one grown up member to last for a year. Furthermore, one item we bought for protection is a Benchmade Knives. This is great for camping and an item to add to your survival lists must have when “rainy days” happens.

Preschooler Refuses To Go Back To School

I am having a hard time getting him to school these days. It started when his big brother stayed home from school. I think he is getting jealous that they can stay home but he can't. He doesn't realize that they went and done what he is doing right now.

I guess I can teach him with my DD in Kindergarten. Not all of it but some part, like the phonics, writing, art and reading. DH and I talk about this before and he thinks he might get board next year in Kindergarten. I told him that it's ok, we can do all the assessment and not to worry about explaining everything to him. Our day will be much shorter and spend more time doing other things.

He can also choose to participate or not with his sister class. I will not force him to do much, it would be just like a pre-K for him. I can always tell him that he is going back to B&M school if he don't listen to me and do what I ask him to do. Yup, I can be mean when I want to.

Hope it works. Ok, I'm off to teach my DD, DS is still weak. He needs to get his strength back before doing some classes again.

One of My Oldest Son Favorite

I have mention before that my oldest son loves to read bleach manga, well not actually bleach but in the same line. He even bought story books about this and they are not cheap either. I always find him reading this stuff on his computer and even subscribes to a few websites that he likes. Furthermore, I'm sure that he already knows about this site already and I can say that he is addicted to these comics' stories. I used to read this stuff when I was a kid living back home. And most of our neighbors would buy at least one and it gets around in the whole development as an entertainment. We don't have TV's, because we live in the boonies. I can't believe that they are just getting popular here in the US. I guess a lot of people are going back to basic these days. Watching TV is not very good in my opinion, they only teach kids stupid things and controlled news.

I hope you like it the way I do. Enjoy.

DC Are Sick

It started the day before thanksgiving with my preschooler. He didn't go to school Monday and Wednesday. He was fine during the holiday but then my Kinder and youngest DC was sick that day. Before the end of the day my second grader was not feeling 100% either. He got the runs and had to used the bathroom so often. By Friday morning he didn't got out of bed and vomited a few times. Same with my Kinder, they are still sick until now. My second grader needs to send a hand writing sample and today is the due date. He can't even get up to sit and write. That is what happens when I wait at the last minute for him to do it.

Lucky for my Kinder, she was done with her writing a week ago.

Happy Thanksgiving

Everything went fine today. DD and YDS are sick today but they still entertain some family members. They have a little temperature but and stomach bug but they are a trooper.

I cooked a little late thinking that everyone will be coming late as usual but of course it always work against me. Two of my nieces had to leave early because they had to work this afternoon. My turkey was not ready until 4:30pm...bummer. I feed them all the side dish and desserts. I told them that next time I will start early to accommodate their schedule. But a year back, I was done cooking around 2:00pm but no SIL and nieces and nephew around. The dinner was cold when they got here. I can't win.

How was your Thanksgiving?

TGIF

I never been so happy that today is Friday. Still finishing the updates with this blog. Trying to make it open up a little faster with the new layout. We (DS and I) survive the first week of home school. Most of the Math 2 we are doing right now, he already learned in B&M school. So, we always jumps to the assessment part of it and spend more time in Lang Arts 2, because he is not very fond of it. He needs more encouraging with this one and he hates reading and writing. I wish I can let him type everything on Word, but the cyber school wants him to practice writing more. We also do most of the assessment on science and history. We spend all the extra hours on Lang Arts 2. Which he hates, but sometimes when he realize he can't do anything until he is done with the class. Then he will listen attentively and do everything right.

I need a vacation already...lol.

Soo Tired

Home schooling two kids is hard, I am so tired when they are done with the day class. And it's only Monday. DS is not comfortable doing it himself, hoping he will get use to it after a week. He waits for me every time his page is done. But I can't help him right away because I need to read everything to DD. He did fine when doing activities out of the computer, but he seems not very fond of reading.Oh well, it's only Monday, hoping for a better turn out tomorrow. And it's only Monday and I am ready for the weekend. I need a nap now. Oh nah, I still need to cook dinner. I need a "katulong" around the house...lol, but I can't afford them. Maybe if I am back home and my husband is making the same amount of money, then I'm sold.

I did other things today too. I dropped and picked my preschooler to school today and I went to Vince house to buy two gallons of raw milk.

Rec Room Cleaned

For two weeks now, my oldest son had been taking some friends home twice a week. Our family room downstairs has never been cleaned for the longest time. I hate cleaning it because as soon as I'm done my three youngest ones, will just mess it up again. It doesn't even take them a day to mess it up.

I do feel bad sometimes (yes only sometimes) when my ODS bring friends home because that room is always a mess. They might think that we never cleaned. So, yesterday after breakfast we all went downstairs and I cleaned. I put the toys away, put everything that are broken and not needed in the garbage and re-arrange the furniture. I am glad this morning when I went down there that its still uncluttered. Hoping to stay that way until Tuesday because that's when my ODS bring friends over. At least they will think that we still clean.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days they come over. That means I have to cook extra dinner on those days too. So far we met 5 of his chess buddies, one of them tuned the guitar that my little ones played with. It's nice to know his friends.

DD and DH are on their way home from DD 2nd birthday party attended this month. Poor DH is not allowed to join DD inside the place, even during reception. They should have said that on the invitation that it's kids only party. I feel so bad for him, because the last party she attended parents are allowed inside and included in the party. I was the one who accompany her that time.

Then DH said that it would be nice if we only have one child, because while she is having fun inside we could have gone for a nice dinner date. I told him that's what happens when he ask for a dozen children...lol. We don't have time for ourselves anymore. The alone time was gone a long time ago. Oh well, we are too old for alone time anyway.

Hubby's Truck Needs Work

Until now my husband truck is not inspected yet. We are still waiting for the parts to come in. His friend who will work on his truck works for our local car repair shop close to our house. We have until the end of the month to put the part in, to get my husband truck inspected. Hopefully they come soon because I don't like doing things at the last minute.

Oldest DS

I can't really complain much about his lifestyle as a teenager. He is a below average when it come to it, which I like. Not like other teenagers around who got suspended so many times in high school. He only gets in trouble when hanging out with the wrong crowds and trying to become their friends.

Anyway, we gave him a cell phone when he was in junior high because of one incident after school program activity, he was supposed to get drop off in certain location at certain time but I waited for 1 hour and the bus didn't not show up. I drove to the school and he is not there anymore. I spoke to the principal but she is not much of a help. Instead she told me to call her back to tell her what happened. I'm already missing a son and she want me to call her back to tell her what happened when my son gets home. Pathetic.

That was the reason for him getting a phone 3 years ago. Fast forward this year, now he is abusing the use of his phone. He gets this stuff online that he needs to pay $10 a month to get some weekly happenings text to him. Mind you we don't have text service because we can't afford it. And every time he is away for some kind of church helping hands thingy, he gets some games over the phone to play because he is bored. He can't get a job because his father takes him every two weekends to stay with him for 2 days. We (DH and I) want him to get a job on the weekend to learn about finances. Same reason why he never gotten his drivers license, we want him to pay for the insurance on his own. And his father doesn't let him to get a job on the summer either.

If he gets us mad enough, I will take the stinking cell phone away from him. He keeps getting some kind of charges on his phone and he can't even answer it when we are calling him most of the time. Other than that, he's been an honor students since junior high. BTW, he only have one year to go then I don't have to worry about him...well for the most part. He'll be gone to college and he can do whatever he wants with his set allowance.

Clothing For Girls @ Shopwiki

Before home schooling my daughter, her teacher asked everyone if they wanted to be included on birthday lists. Since she doesn’t have any friends yet, I made sure that her name is included. Sure enough after a few days in home school she received a few invitations for a birthday party. All of her invitations came from her girl classmates. So, most parties are held on a cheering school and gymnastic schools. She doesn’t own a pair of leotard clothes, so I started looking online using Shopwiki.

Searching at Shopwiki for girls clothing never had been easier. They show you in the very beginning all the information you needed to know. You can also sort clothing by type, so if you are searching for formal dresses or casual clothing. I was surprise on my first time using it because it’s not your usual shopping websites. However, I find it easy to use, try Shopwiki when searching for girls clothing.

Please visit their site for anything you need. They are like another shopping website out there but with the twist. Try it out today.

DD @ Her First B-day Party

This is the party that we went to over the weekend (11/2). DD is the one wearing a pink top. You can see that she is the smallest in her K class. Most of her classmates are turning 6 this month. (Hers is in May.) This is her first birthday party this month. The second one is on the 15th and the third one will on the 22nd. She had a lot of fun with this picture. She didn't even touch the food and specially the cake. She usually eat a lot of it, but with this party she only taste the icing.

Btw, the birthday girl is the one wearing a shirt with birthday girl printed on it. Most of them are very happy to see her at the party.

He Likes Quality

My husband like I mention before works outside. And he always preferred to buy pricey clothing because he knows that it will last longer. Not like the cheap clothing you will find in some store in our area. He actually like those tactical pants you will find at Operator-tactical-pants.com. You can see the image above that it already has the shape for the knees and big pocket to put anything he needs during work hours. They are not to loss, that you will look like teenagers these days. And not too tight that you will see every bulge there is. They still look professional enough for the job he does.

OLS Not Working This Morning

My DD OLS is not working this morning when we started. I kinda relieved and worry at the same time. Happy because I was planning my 1200 EC happening for the first time, and DD will be doing back up classes until Saturday.

I think within 2 hours is was up and running again. Whew, no Saturday class as we speak. I'm so glad ha ha ha. I don't really want to do a class on the weekend. So glad that we don't have to.

Did You Start Your Christmas Shopping Yet?

I know a few people who start shopping as soon as the holiday was over. One of them is my mother in law. She shop so early that she will never remember where she put everything that she bought for everyone. We always end up getting present from her throughout the year. She maybe giving us Christmas items on Easter or she will be giving the gift right after the occasion. The present she is giving away are bought the year before. I find it funny sometimes and annoying at the same time.

Anyway I found a site for those of you who love to shop on black Friday. All you have to do is subscribe to this site to get an email alert about cyber monday discounts. You will find out what and how much you will save by getting the Black Friday circular with the entire sale going on in your area, or even online. You don't need to wait for the mailman or newspaper boy to deliver your paper and circular. They will email it to you as soon as they can. You can easily access them without leaving your seat at home. I really don't mind getting email alert from Old Navy. What can I say, I love that store. What are you waiting for, sign up for email alert today.

Pushy Special Ed Teacher

Today is the first day for home school for my 2nd grader. I don't have any hardware and materials for him yet, because he only got approved last Friday (Halloween). And they wanted us to start today. I don't think that people who are in charge for hardware and materials even read their email yet about what we needed. That will take at least about a week to get the first shipment to us.

Well, someone called me today asking how is our first day of home school. I told her that I sent my son to school today because we don't have anything to start with. Then she proceeded that we should start on the date that is given to us to start. Hello, who are you? Are you the president of this school? I hate when they are pushy. I bet she don't have any kids home school. She doesn't know anything about how the kids are affected with not having any materials to use. She told that she will her supervisor about it. Then she called me back around 3pm telling me that I will start tomorrow. No if's and buts. He can only be enroll in one school. That is why I'm letting you know that we will wait for the materials to come. The lessons can be push back and same with his start date.

And since I have other computer at home, my son can use one of them. It's not the hardware I'm having problem with, it's the materials. It will too much for him if we start with nothing. Then she said that I can print everything I need to start. Ok, we tried it after eating dinner, and guess what? All the practice sheets have answer because they are teacher answer sheets. Most of the student pages are in the book. The only thing we found is the assessment page. But how can he answer it without practicing first.

I did an orientation for him and ask the question about starting later (about two weeks later). And the lady who is doing the orientation had no problem with it. Because we don't have any materials. She have 2 kids home school and she understand me right away.

She didn't say that today is our start date, that we should start today even if we don't have anything. I don't know what is the other lady's problem. Good thing she is not my son teacher. She is only his special education teacher, I really don't know what that means but I think she is my sons IEP (speech, my son is delay) teacher. I should call you from now on "Ms. Pushy Grouch".

I didn't actually argue with her about the whole thing. I just keep telling that we need some materials to start and I will ask DH what he thinks about the whole thing and we will get back to her thru email. I better email her now.

We Took The Kids Out

Yesterday we took our DC to the mall for a few hours. Well actually, we had to get our vehicles inspected so, instead of waiting at the garage for 4 hours we went to the mall. We walk for hours, (well it feels like hours) bought gifts for my DD classmates birthday parties this month. We are going to one today, and another one in two weeks.

Anyway, we got their picture sketched by a automated artist. We did not get one for my youngest son, because he refuses to sit still. Plus the machine don't want to take our dollar bills. I ran out of quarters for the three of them. I had to asked the lady that was getting a drink from the machine to exchange my bills for coins.

She hesitated for a bit, but I offer to put my bills in the machine. When the machine took my dollar she gave me her coins. Anyway, they had fun and my youngest son fall asleep as soon as we start driving to pick up one of our vehicles.

We were expecting the worst from them but they turn out well behave and listen to us the whole time. The last time we went out with all four of them was two weeks ago. I blame DH for it. I told him, he can go out and take one with him. But he insisted that I come along, meaning taking everyone with us. As soon as we got to Staples (getting some school supplies for home school) they fought you gets to ride on which shopping cart. Ending that most of them wants to ride with DH, but they can't all fit in small shopping cart. Two started drying so loudly, I feel like hitting DH in the head for insisted we all come along. Instead of having a restful weekend I spend and hour trying to make the two stop crying and running after them all over the store. I can control them very easy at home, not out in the public, because I can't choke them in public...lol. I will go to jail.(ok watch out people, you better know me before reporting me to social services) I know a lot of you there will report anything even if you don't see anything that is happening. And you think you know more about my kids than their own parents.

So, that's what we did yesterday. I have to get ready now for my DD classmate birthday party. Then we are going grocery shopping after.

Stylish Prescription Glasses Online For $8

I have read so many tips on how you can be frugal these days. You will find tips on groceries bills to clothing and everything in between. But when it comes to groceries I’m not frugal enough. I buy foods that are mostly made with natural ingredients. I can see blogs that are telling you are saving this much or that much by buying certain items, but most of the food they bought has High Fructose Corn Syrup, Fully & Partially Hydrogenated Oil and glycerin and the like. I’m sorry but I’d rather freeze my behind at home to save money on electric bills than eating this crap. Right now we have our thermostat set at 55 degrees.

But, I can definitely save some money buying eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. For 8 dollars a pair, I can easily buy reading glasses and sunglasses for driving around. I hate it when it’s bright outside. I can’t see very well without shades and with the sun shine is the worst for me. But believe it or not, I still have 20/20 vision for my age, because I wear sunglasses every time it’s bright outside. Plus I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables that are good for my eyes.

Have a Safe And Fun Halloween

What are your plans today/tonight? We are going around our neighborhood tonight when DH gets home to go treat or treating. DC can't wait to do it and been asking me all day. We went to DS#2 Halloween parade this afternoon. He is wearing a Harry Potter costume because I can't find the cape for the Vampire costume. DD were playing with it a few months ago and I can't remember where I hide it. I found the Harry Potter stuff with no problem but the Vampire cape is not in the same bag.

Anyway here they are: DS#3 Winnie the Pooh, DS#4 Tiger, Colonial outfit for DD, and Harry Potter for my DS#2 (with no tie).

Last Minute Shopping

Like I said below about the Halloween Candies, I went out to get some more candy bar today after picking DS 1 from the bus stop and DS 2 from the high school. I also made a stop to get DS 2 a black pants for his vampire costume for tomorrow.

DS 1 had to stop at the book store to buy another copy of manga comic book. He is into those cartoon characters, he even subscribe to one manga blog.

Looking forward for the parade tomorrow. I'm hoping for a warmer temperature around 2pm tomorrow for the parade.

Martin At The Sands

Another gift idea for the people in your list this holiday. A Martin at the Sands CD, everyone loves him. With this CD you will find songs like; "That's Amore", "Volare", "Return To Me", "Cha ChaCha d'Amour", Young and Foolish", "Memories Are Made Of This", and "Dream A Little Dream Of Me". And what is not to like, I'm not a fan of anything but I like him at comedy shows made a long time ago. You will also find other items of Dean Martin by following the link above.

We Are Almost There

Just an update about home school. I am getting the hang of it, after two weeks. I am glad that we are both adjusting with the home environment. Hoping she will stop asking to go back to regular school when her brother start home school too.

My preschooler is very excited about it. He can't wait to get his own desk, chair and computer too.

Anyway, that's all for today.

Halloween Candies

Since our kids are old enough to go trick and treating and know the concept of it, we start buying good candy. Actually we always buy candy bars instead of the packs with so many different candy in it. And no we don't buy the bags with little candy bars in it, we buy packs with big candy bars 1.55 oz Hershey's bar and 1.5 oz Reese's peanut butter cups.
My DD can't eat the peanut butter cups (she's allergic to peanut butter), but DH loves them. I bought a box of each from BJ's on Monday and they are half way gone. Between DH and DC those candy bars is disappearing fast. There are 36 bars in each box, so we have a total of 72 bars that is almost gone. I told DH that he needs to go back to get some more for Halloween this Friday.

We don't get much trick or treating around me because the houses are far from each other. Not like in the city that you only need to make a few steps and you are in your neighbors front door already. DH usually drives DC around, because its too much for them if they walk around.

I have a continuing program of research (What mother doesn't?) in the laboratory and in the field (normally I would have said indoors and out).
